Obituary of John Richard Ulrich

John “Jack” Richard Ulrich John (Jack) Richard Ulrich, age 82, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 3, 2023. He was born on June 25, 1941 in Erie, the son of the late Louis and Esther Ulrich. John, affectionally know as Jack, was a devoted family man who held his loved ones close to his heart. His caring and compassionate nature extended to his two sons as well as his brothers, Robert and Thomas Ulrich, and his sister, Patricia Coulson, and several nieces and nephews. In his leisure time, John found solace in tending to his beloved flower garden, cultivating vibrant blooms which brought beauty and joy to his surroundings. He also found great pleasure in watching Western movies and faithfully tuning in to “The Price is Right”. These simple pleasures provided him with relaxation and entertainment. John’s faith was an essential part of his life, and he found spiritual fulfillment at the Interfaith Worship Center. His commitment to his religious beliefs provided him with guidance and strength throughout his journey. John will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle spirit, unwavering love for his family, especially his sons; Joe and James and his grandchildren; Jackson and Lilah. His dedication to his hobbies will forever remain in the hearts of those who touched. He was preceded in death by his wife Diane Ohman Ulrich, his brother James Ulrich, his niece Nancy Ulrich, his sister Florence (Sue) Ulrich, his brother-in-law David Coulson and his sister-in-law Sharon Ulrich. Visitation will be held to celebrate John’s life and honor his memory at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506 on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 3 pm until 7 pm with a service there on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11 am with the Rev. Gene Kennett officiating. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. May the soul of John Ulrich find eternal rest and may his legacy continue to inspire and bring solace to those who loved him.
