Obituary of Tharrel "Bud" F. Stanley

Tharrel “Bud” F. Stanley Tharrel “Bud” F. Stanley, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., passed away after a brief illness on Monday, March 18, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was a Navy veteran serving aboard the USS Cone from 1956 to 1962. He was born on September 22, 1938 in Clendenon, WVA, the son of the late Frank B. and Blanche Smith Stanley. He retired from Seelar Elevator Co. after 33 years of service. He enjoyed NASCAR, working on cars, and traveling. He was preceded in death by five sisters: Mary Ann White, Fran Skelton, Joyce Markwell, Violet Markwell, and Rose Robison, one brother Jerry Stanley, son-in-law Bill Kuffer, and one son Thomas Vanderhoof. He is survived by his beloved wife Elaine Smith Stanley, his children; Lori Stanley, Janet Kuffer, Mike Stanley (Vickie), Russ Vanderhoof (Kim), Amy Burke (Mike), and daughter-in-law Debbie Vanderhoof. 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Interim Hospice and especially to care givers, Emily and Renee. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 12 Noon until the time of the Funeral Service there at 2 p.m. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
