George E. Reitz, Sr., age 65 of Millcreek Twp., passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on April 30, 1949 in Erie, the son of the late George N. and Isabelle Burger Reitz. George was a graduate of East H.S. where he was a member of the football and swimming teams. He attended Gannon College. George was a phenomenal carpenter and worked for all the major building contractors. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was a black belt martial artist. He is survived by his loving wife Rebecca A. Drefus, one daughter Elissa Reitz of Lawrence Park, three sons: Greg Reitz of Manchester, NH, George Reitz, II of Erie, Chris Reitz of Millcreek, one granddaughter Samantha Reitz, two stepsons, David and Daniel Dreyfus both of Millcreek, four sisters: Jean Marie, Carol, his twin sister Joyce, Sharon, and six brothers: David, Charles, Walter, Ray, James, and Francis, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service there at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
