Obituary of Charles Dahlstrand

Charles "Charlie" E. Dahlstrand, age 96, formerly of Millcreek Twp. passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 in Harrisburg, PA. He was born in Corry, PA on September 19, 1918, the son of the late Henry F. and Jeannette Taylor Dahlstrand. He resided in the Erie area all his life. Charlie was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was active in Koinonia of Erie County and Kairos Prison Ministry. He was employed for thirty years as a letter carrier with the US Postal Service retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Charlie is survived by his son Gregory J. Dahlstrand (Kathy) of Hummelstown, PA and two sisters; Joanne Dahlstrand of Erie and Jacqueline Barber of Colorado. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty A. Dahlstrand, his daughter, JoAnne Dahlstrand, nine sisters: Dorothy Freeburg, Betty Bertram, Florence Woodworth, Phyllis Sutto, Ann Louise Pfeffer, Marjorie Resta, Patricia Campbell, Jeannette LaKari, Virginia Chiarizio, two brothers, David Dahlstrand, and John Dahlstrand. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7 to 9:00 p.m. and are invited to Asbury United Methodist Church on Monday for the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Private interment.
