Helen Ann Smith Carter Helen Ann Smith Carter, age 66, of Millcreek Twp. died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Butler, Pa. on May 4, 1942, the daughter of the late William L. Smith and Mary Monroe Smith. She had resided in Erie since 1977 and was employed at Magnetics, Inc. and The Butler Eagle as a typesetter. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Red Cross, and a mentoring program. She enjoyed playing scrabble. She is survived by one daughter, Terri L. Toy (Linford) of Millcreek, three sisters: Mary C. Yamnitsky, Rose E. McCall, Agnes W. Widenhofer all of Butler, five brothers: William C. Smith of Ariz., John P. Smith of Calif., James M. Smith of Butler, Donald R. Smith of New Kensington, Thomas J. Smith of Herman, Pa., one beloved granddaughter, Lauren Helen Baldauf, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Carter, and a sister, Trudy Moore. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service there at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Rick Crocker. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to VNA Hospice, 1305 Peach St., Erie, PA 16501
