Obituary of Joseph Ferraro

Joseph Ferraro, age 92, of Summit Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on June 18, 1922 in Rosarno, Italy, the son of the late James and Mary Taccone Ferraro. He served in the Pacific Theater during WWII in the Army Air Corp. He attended Gannon College and was employed at Erie G.E. until his retirement at age sixty-two. He was a member of American Legion Post 571 Wesleyville and Trout Unlimited. He enjoyed fly fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Zaun Ferraro in 2011, one brother, Fred, and three sisters: Nancy Ferraro, Geraldine Amendola, and Rose Marie Lopez. He is survived by two children; Dr. Kathleen Ferraro (Neil Websdale) of Flagstaff, AZ and Daniel Ferraro (Georgette C.) of Pittsburgh, his grandchildren; Kailey McCarthy (Joshua) and Kyle Johnson, one great-granddaughter, Ana McCarthy, one brother, James Ferraro (Nancy) of Falls Creek, PA, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for a time of sharing. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trout Unlimited, PO Box 7400, Woolly Bugger, WV 25438.
