Jean I. Carter Jean I. Carter, age 81, of Millcreek Twp., died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born on April 8, 1928 in Erie, the daughter of the late, Lee W. and Lillian (Horning) Fitzgerald. She volunteered for the Mended Hearts Society for many years and she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school at Simpson United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and her family. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Fitzgerald and one sister, Juanita Dunfee. Jean is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward F. Carter, two sons; Edward E. Carter (Jean) of Fairview and Dale Carter (Donna) of Millcreek, three grandchildren: Edward S. Carter (Colleen) of Erie, April LaRiccia (Joe) of Millcreek and Steve Carter of Ashburn, VA., seven great-grandchildren: Ryan, Erin, Brett, and Kyle Carter, Jordan, Shane, and Angel LaRiccia, one brother, Robert Fitzgerald of Cheektowaga, NY and many nieces and nephews Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Monday for the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment Erie Cemetery.
