Obituary of Janet Brown

Janet F. "Nana" Brown, age 72, of Girard Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, June 5, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on May 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Charles & Laura Black Dick. Janet was devoted to her family. She was a very compassionate and caring person to others. Janet worked for many years as a Nanny. She was especially fond of being a grandmother to both her own grandchildren and countless other children. Janet loved to cook, shop and was devoted to prayer and reading her Bible. She was a member of the Erie Christian Fellowship. Preceded in death by her 11 brothers and sisters, Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Charles "Charlie" Brown; one daughter: Lorrie Pataky (Rodney); two sons: Chuck Brown (Tammy) and Dennis Brown (Julie); one sister: Judy Bruno (Dan); two brothers: Jim Dick (Fern) and Ken Dick (Carol); 11 grandchildren: Lauren, Ryley, Nick, Gabe, Jessica, Alex, Ethan, Trey, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Morgan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, 4216 Sterrettania Road on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Wednesday at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. James Dumont. Interment, Erie County Memorial Gardens.
