Helen E. Sonney, age 85, of Millcreek Twp., died at Manchester Commons on Saturday, June 6, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born in Springboro, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Nogee. She worked at Kaiser Aluminum as a secretary until 1955, when she started her family. She was a Sunday School teacher and a member of Luther Memorial Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and hosting family and holiday parties. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Steelers. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ralph, her beloved son David, brothers; Frank and Al, and sister, Josephine. She is survived by her sons: Charles (Julia), Jeffrey (Nancy), and Mark, five loving grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Following Mrs. Sonney's wishes, in lieu of services, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 823 Filmore Avenue, Erie, PA 16505 or Luther Memorial Church, 220 West 11th Street, Erie, PA 16501. Arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
