Obituary of Jane J. Nunes

Jane Wawczyk, age 95, went to her rest on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. She was born in Erie on January 4, 1920 the daughter of the late Stanley and Frances Mytnik Zuba Wawczyk. She retired from Anson Tool & Gauges after 28 years in their polishing room. She also worked at Matrix Tools for a short period when help was in short supply. She also did some work in her basement for Continental. Jane was a member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. She was an avid reader; keeping abreast of all news, local, national, and international. She also enjoyed doing both crossword puzzles daily. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony J. Nunes who passed away on February 14, 1980 and her son Anthony J. Nunes, Jr. who passed away on June 25, 2004, three brothers: Joseph and Zigmond Zuba, and Stanley Wawczyk, two sister; Camille Wesley and Genevieve Lewandowski. Jane is survived by her son James V. Nunes (Patricia) of Millcreek Twp. and a daughter-in-law, Irene Nunes of Conneaut, OH. Leaving behind to cherish her memory are eight grandchildren: Kevin Nunes of NC, Thomas Nunes (Heather) of Aurora, CO, Anthony J. Nunes III (Carrie) of Midlothian, VA, Todd Nunes of Erie, Natalie Conway (Todd), Nancy Lassiter, Nikki Chafin (Shane) all of Williamsburg, VA, and Noelle Nunes of Conneaut, OH and fourteen great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and are invited there on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. for prayers followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Jude R. C. Church, 2801 West 6th Street, at 9:30 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
