Obituary of Boyd J. Gardner

Boyd J. Gardner was born in Blue Jay, WVA 95 years ago on February 20, 1920. His family moved to Curwensville, PA when he was three years old. There he became an avid hunter and fisherman. Moving to Erie in his 20’s, he worked at Welch’s Juice Plant in North East then at Griswold Mfg., and for many years as a maintenance worker at the Urick Foundry, where he retired at the age of 80. As of late, he has resided in Waterford.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years Marjorie J. Dale Robinson Gardner, one daughter Eugenia Blasco, one granddaughter Richelle Smith, his parents Ina and Jerry Gardner, three brothers, and three sisters.
Boyd is survived by one sister Rispy Olin, four children: Ruth Smith (William) of McKean, Ernest Robinson (Kimberly) of Erie, Ina Cool of Harborcreek, and Everett Robinson (Lenora) of Waterford, twenty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Private interment at Wattsburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
