Obituary of Tricia Ann McAndrew

Tricia Ann “Terter” McAndrew, age 45, of McKean Twp., passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at Millcreek Community Hospital after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Erie on June 9, 1970, the daughter of Bonnie Rose Kinnear McAndrew Oleson and her husband Neil E. Oleson (step- father) of McKean and the late Thomas James McAndrew. Tricia was a graduate of General McLane H.S. and she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees (Special Education) from Edinboro University. Tricia taught special education at Parker Middle School until her medical retirement after 17+ years. She was active in Strings for a Cure and enjoyed lounging at the beach, reading, and she loved family time and life in general. She was the strongest and most positive person anyone would meet. Besides her mother and step-father, Tricia is survived by her children; Jacquelyn Rose Burkett and Zachary Thomas Burkett both at home, their father Timothy Mark Burkett of McKean, two brothers; James Thomas McAndrew of Millcreek Twp., Ryan Michael McAndrew of Pittsburgh, grandmother Mary Alice McAndrew of Erie, her boyfriend Jay Monfort of Jamestown, NY, two step-sisters; Carrie Ann Haynes (Paul) of North East, Natalie Ann Geiger (Chuck) of Wattsburg, one step-brother Matthew E. Oleson (April) of Biloxi Miss, a special cousin Peyton Kinnear, her niece and nephew; Tess and Jacob McAndrew, and many other cousins, aunts, and uncles. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and are invited there on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service. Interment Erie County Memorial Gardens. The family would like to give a special “thank you” to the General McLane teachers, staff, and students for their loving concern for Tricia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
