Jim Sharpe passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, after a short illness. Jim was born on November 17, 1946 in Girard, PA, the son of the late James R. and Anna Ciko Sharpe, Sr. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and a fanatical fly fisherman. He was a Master Class trials motorcycle rider and competed at the National and World Championship level. Jim was a tool and die maker and worked for Precise Plastic for the past 30 plus years. If it could be made, Jim could make it. Jim served his country honorably during the Vietnam era aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard (CVA-31) aircraft carrier. He was involved with the Steelhead Association, was the leader of the Gem City Fly Tiers, and helped teach the art of fly tying to thousands of children and adults. He was also a former director of the Gem City Outdoorsman Club. Jim is survived by his daughter Stephanie Sharpe of San Diego, CA and granddaughter Keara and son Joshua Sharpe of Louisville, KY and grandchildren; Kiley and Tristian, one sister Becky Duino (Mickey) of Fairport, NY, and one brother Mark Sharpe of McKean. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gem City Fly Tiers Christmas Basket Project, c/o Gem City Outdoorsman Club, 6701 Van Camp Rd., Fairview, PA 16415, which Jim started.
