Obituary of Albert J. Gilson, Jr.

Albert J. “Bert” Gilson, Jr., age 70, of Millcreek Twp., passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Youngstown, OH on July 7, 1945, the son of the late Albert J. and Pauly Anna Coleman Gilson, Sr. He attended school in Greenville, PA and was a 1963 graduate of Greenville, H.S. After graduation, he joined the US Navy being deployed four times during the Vietnam War. He was employed at and retired from Schewebel Baking Co. after 30 years as a sales manager. Bert enjoyed traveling in his RV and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one nephew James N. Bain, Jr. and one brother-in-law James N. Bain, Sr. Bert is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Mary Jane Wyatt Gilson, one daughter Melody A. Irwin (Gregg) of Carlisle, PA, one son Timothy E. Gilson (Kathleen) of Lake City, one sister Pauly Ann Bain of Sharpsville, one brother Thomas Gilson (Barbara) of Morganton, NC, three grandchildren: Jessica K. Irwin, Gregg T. Irwin, Jr., Janelle N. Gilson, two great-granddaughters; Cadince Adams, Macey Adams, several nieces and nephews, and his special friend (his dog), Parker. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Private interment.
