Obituary of Madeline Marie Johnson Kolatorowicz

Madeline Marie Johnson Kolatorowicz, age 84, of Lawrence Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Sunrise Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Phillipsburg, PA on April 19, 1932, the daughter of the late William A. and Elizabeth Manarich Johnson. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at Erie G.E. She was a member of St. James R.C. Church. Madeline loved nature and the arts. She and her husband attended many performances of the Erie Play House, the Erie Philharmonic, and sailing on Presque Isle Bay and the lake. Madeline enjoyed all times with her family; especially holidays and special family celebrations. Each Tuesday evenings were spent with her husband dining at Ricardo’s Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Edwin Kolatorowicz who passed on February of 2016, three brothers; Eugene, Joseph, and James Johnson, one nephew David M. Johnson, and one great niece Jennifer R. Johnson. She is survived by two brothers William and Albert Johnson and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living and the nurses from Lakeland Hospice for the excellent care they provided Madeline. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at St. James R.C. Church, 2635 Buffalo Rd. at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Winter Green Gorge Cemetery. All arrangements were under the direction of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Playhouse, 13 West 10th Street, Erie, PA 16501.
