Putnam H. Clark
Putnam "Put" H. Clark, age 84, went home to be with his Savior at his Millcreek residence surrounded by his friends and family on Friday, April 17, 2009. He was born on July 22, 1924 in Sommerville, MA, the son of the late, Stedman and Helen Francis Barber Clark.
He lived in the Erie area for ten years moving here from FL. He served in the US Air Force during WWII as a meteorologist and teletype technician. He was employed at IBM for 35 years as a customer service representative and director of training. He was a member of First Alliance Church, where he served as an usher. He was a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Masons, Talbot Lodge, in MA. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Erie Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife, Helen V. Schupp Clark, one daughter, Carolyn Moulton (Rick) of MA, two sons; Ronald Clark of CO, Gary Garis (Sue) of Erie, five granddaughters: Brienne, Jessica, Gretchen, Robin, and Kendra, two great- grandsons, Ethan and Gavin, two great- granddaughters, Haley and Avery, one sister, Ruth Bowlby, of MA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Grace Calvarese and three brothers; William, Stedman, and Elmer Clark.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to First Alliance Church on Tuesday for viewing from 10:00 a.m. until time of service there at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. David Snyder. Private interment.
