Clark Eugene “Gene” Dowling, age 76, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 after an extended illness at his residence. He was born in Knoxville, TN on April 5, 1940, the son of the late Clark and Flossie Dowling. Clark served in the US Air Force and enjoyed wood-working, and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He owned and operated Dowling Tavern.
He is survived by his wife Cathy Jean Krepps Dowling, one brother Daniel Daniels of Painesville, OH, one daughter Janine Dowling (Bill) of Boston, MA, three sons: Dallas Summers (Gissella) of Overland, KS, Frank Summers (Michelle) of Erie, Joseph Summers of Erie, five grandchildren: Brandon White, Jonathan, Darren, Cody, and Gabby.
A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. All arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
