The world lost a beautiful person when Mildred Ellen Schermer Martz passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, June 25, 2016. She was born June 8, 1930, to the late William Schermer and Dorothy (Gardner) Schermer of Millcreek. She worked as the treasurer of Meadow Brook Credit Union for many years. After retiring, she was active in many senor groups and kept busy volunteering. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening, but most of all, spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Martz in 2009, her brothers, George and Charles Schermer, sisters-in-law, Irma and D Elaine Schermer, brother-in-law Russell Wright, nephews, Bruce and Michael Schermer, dear friend, Marvin Doran, and infant sister, Edna Mae. Her love lives on in the hearts of her daughter, Marsha Bolger (Terry Bratt), son, R. Carl Martz (Lisa), grandchildren: Kate Walsh (Derek), Colleen Andrzejewski (Sean), Benjamin Martz (Kim), Matthew and Carla Martz, Olivia, Keegan, and Cameron, and great-grandchildren: Allison, Maggie, Hailey, Samuel, Eva, Violet, Riley, and Camille. She is also survived by her sister Evelyn (Schermer) Wright and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited there Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
