Charles "Chuck" F. Clinger


Charles "Chuck" F. Clinger, age 78, of Summit Twp. died Sunday, April 19, 2009. He was born on November 15, 1930 in Brookville, PA, the son of the late Thomas and Violet Hughes Clinger.


He served in the U.S. Army. He was a carpenter by trade working through the Carpenters Union #81. He was a member of VFW Post 470. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.


He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gertrude Adamus Clinger, twelve children: Patricia Clinger and her partner, Martin Dearbeck, of Erie, Joseph Clinger (Cheryl) of Texas City, TX, Ann Marie Bernardini (Michael), of Girard, Lisa Hopkins (Damon) of Erie, Garner Clinger (Linda) of Fairview, Debbie Trudnowski (Richard) of Harborcreek, Cynthia Dropcho (Michael) of Fairview, Marybeth DePaul (Anthony), of Fort Worth, TX, Kathy Clinger-Smith, of Erie, Thomas Clinger, of Thailand, Michelle Mayr (James), of Harborcreek, twenty-two grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles F. Clinger, Jr., and four brothers.


Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday for the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Private interment.
