Obituary of John E. Gibson

John E. “Jack” Gibson, age 82 of Erie, passed away at his home on Friday September 2, 2016. He was born in Latrobe, PA on September 1, 1934 a son of the late Ronald and Marie Kusinsky Gibson. In addition to this parents he was preceded in death by one son Dr. Christopher Allen Gibson in 2012. John proudly served his country in the United State Marine Corp., during the Korean War Conflict. Upon returning home to Latrobe he began a string of entrepreneurial endeavors and later moved his family to Erie in 1971. John worked in the employment business for over ten years and then owned his own carpet cleaning business in the Erie Area until his retirement. John was a born salesman, who was a very outgoing and optimistic person. He enjoyed being the “life of the party” and loved talking to anyone who would listen. He is survived by his beloved and patient wife of 62 years, Patricia A. Tepper Gibson, whom he married on September 26, 1953 at St. Vincent College in Latrobe; two sons, Jeffrey Scott and his wife Kimberly Hopkins Gibson of Erie and John P. and his wife Vicki Blackburn Gibson of Belton, Texas; three grandchildren, Sarah Gibson of Erie, Rachel (Chase) Beal of Hillsboro, Oregon and Andrew Gibson of Erie and three great-grandchildren, Sofia Zazado, Eva Rauch and Hudson Beal. Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were under the care of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506.
