Obituary of John Anthony Yonko, Sr.

John Anthony Yonko Sr. age 73, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Thursday November 17, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital, Erie, PA following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on April 27, 1943 a son of the late John Andrew and Martha Godzwa Yonko. John was the retired owner of Zeyon Inc. Along with his wife they currently resided in Punta Gorda, FL for the last eleven years. John loved his family, golfing, pinochle and all his friends in Erie and Blue Heron Pines, Punta Gorda, FL. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Christopher Yonko. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (Koenig) Yonko; two sons, John Yonko Jr. and his wife Karen and Joseph Yonko; two daughters, Dianne Yonko Porter and her husband Steven and Jill Yonko McIntyre, six grandchildren, Steven Porter Jr., Ryan Yonko, Nick Yonko, Elizabeth Yonko, Aaron Yonko and Andrew Yonko; one sister Pat Fletcher and her husband Jim and one brother, Dan Yonko and his wife Marlene. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506, on Sunday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, additional calling will be held on Monday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of the prayer service at 10:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church 8880 Main St. McKean. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
