Obituary of Daunice M. Bunn

Daunice M. Bunn age 69 of Millcreek Twp., passed away at her home on Saturday November 19, 2016, following a courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Johnstown, PA on August 11, 1947 a daughter of the late, Robert and Alice McKinley Motter Sr. Daunice graduated from Westmont Hilltop High School and received her Bachelor’s degree in education from IUP. She continued her education on the Masters level with work in child development and administration. Daunice worked as an administrator and teacher for child care programs in Johnstown and Erie for over 25 years, and was also an instructor with Penn Highlands Community College in Johnstown. She was a board member for various Pennsylvania state organizations. Daunice moved to the Erie area to be closer to her loving family and worked at Lowes Home Improvement. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, traveling, football and theatre. Most of all she loved her family, a good glass of wine, the beach, obtaining high scores in Candy Crush and her cats. She is survived by her husband, Walter “Wally” Bunn of the home; one daughter, Amy (Jeff) Tevis of Millcreek; one son, Richard “Rick” (Kandi) Yeager of Maryville, TN; one brother, Robert (Kathi) Motter Jr. of York, PA; two sisters, Patty (Larry) Newbegin of Blountville, TN and Carol Ann Motter (Ron Swinyer) of Easley, SC; three stepchildren, Paul (Meridith) Bunn of Scottsdale, AZ, Ralph Bunn and Laura Bunn both of Connecticut; four grandchildren, Griffin Tevis, Payton Tevis, Shelby Yeager and Jasmine Bunn and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Erie, PA 16506, on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o the funeral home.
