Obituary of Eugene F. Sanders

Eugene F. Sanders age 87 of Millcreek Twp., passed away at this home surrounded by his family on Friday December 30, 2016 following an extended illness. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 25, 1929 a son of the late Alfred and Vera Hinkel Sanders. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three grandchildren. Eugene graduated in 1952 from the university of Missouri at Rolla and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon, Alpha Chi Sigma, Tau Beta Ti and Blue Key fraternities. He retired from Mallinckrodt-Calsicat, where he was a technical director and traveled the world. Eugene was a very talented musician playing the trumpet. He loved to fish, the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed football and boxing. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret D. Sanders; their four children, Don (Mary) Sanders of Crystal City, MO, Patty (Greg) Maxwell of Syracuse, NY, Gloria (Jim) Mack of Erie and David Sanders of West Springfield; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jeannie Dibble and Melissa Kuck for all their care and support. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, and are invited to a funeral service there on Thursday morning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
