Obituary of Marjorie June Nelson

Marjorie June Moore Nelson Marjorie J. Moore Nelson of Erie, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was born on June 12, 1923 to her late parents Floyd and Frieda Tappert Moore. She was an active member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for twenty-five years and was an active member of the Church Women’s Group. She was employed during WWII at Bliley Electric Co., later at the Boston Store, and a part-time employee at Robert Krider Architects and Baxter Accountants. She graduated from East High School in Feb., 1941 and was a member of their class alumni group. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Clarence Nelson who died in Jan., 2006, two sisters; Betty Ersley Smith and Audrey Moore Shannon. She is survived by her beloved son James M. Nelson (Lisa) of CA, a dear granddaughter Nicole Nelson and her mother Cheryl Nelson Boyce, several nieces and nephews, and one brother-in-law. Private arrangements were handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Independence Court and AseraCare Hospice for their excellent care they provided Marjorie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Marjorie’s memory.
