Robert J. Wieczorek “Wizz”
Loving and dedicated son, brother, uncle, and friend
Robert John Wieczorek “Wizz”, age 49, peacefully passed away at his Millcreek Twp. residence on Sunday, February 12, 2017. Born in Erie, PA on September 12, 1967, he was the beloved son of Max W. Wieczorek and Joann M. Dunn Wieczorek of Millcreek. He attended Sacred Heart School where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. He graduated from Tech Memorial H.S. in 1987 and attended Edinboro University. He was employed at PennDot and was a Transportation Equipment Operator for 17 years.
In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by: his beloved sister, Denise Wieczorek Bizzarro and her husband Joseph Louis of Millcreek; three nephews who were his pride and joy, State Representative Ryan Bizzarro, Nicholas, and Antonio Bizzarro of Millcreek; his aunt, Barbara Chroscielewski of Erie; his uncle David Wieczorek (Patricia) of Wattsburg; his Godmother, Barbara Preston and many cousins.
Robert John loved life, and always put his family first-especially his nephews whom he admired and loved unconditionally. He had a heart of gold, and was always willing and able to do and drop whatever he was doing to assist them. He enjoyed the old time movies, gatherings with his friends and family, and valued his community through engaging in several local organizations and clubs.
He was preceded in death by his nephew Joseph Bizzarro, his paternal grandparents Max and Albina Wieczorek, his maternal grandmother Lena Schell, his Godfather Tom Chroscielewski, his cousin Dr. Ronald J. Wieczorek and his best friend, Patrick DiPaolo.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited there on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. for prayers followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 2401 West 38th. Street, Erie, PA 16506. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1001 State Street, Suite 502, Erie, PA 16501; the ANNA Shelter, 1555 E. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511; or The Humane Society of NW, PA, 2407 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506.
