Obituary of Lawrence E. Nichols

Lawrence E. “Larry” Nichols, age 71, of Fairview, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Cleveland Clinic following a short illness. He was born in Oil City, PA on July 21, 1945.
Larry was a graduate of Brockton Central High School in Brockton, NY, and attended Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis, MN, where he studied transportation logistics. He was a customer service agent for 35 years, first working with Ozark, Lake Central, Allegheny, and then retired from U.S. Airways. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife. Larry’s favorite pastimes included camping, hiking, and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and taking care of his yard.
Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia “Holly” Nichols; three children, Kimberly Peebles, Kris Nichols, and Jonathan Nichols (Wendy); six brothers, Jack (Noralyn), David, Charles, James, Christopher (Renee), and Keith (Tina) Nichols; three sisters, Debbie Copolillo, Sandy Przybylak (Mark), and Laura Nosbisch; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Kaylie and Karissa Peebles, Aidan, Ella, Elizabeth and Tristan Nichols; one great-grandson, Jensen Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father, John Nichols; his mother, Margery Nichols; his stepmother, Carol Nichols; a grandson, Kaleb Peebles; and a sister, Ann Osborne.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, on Friday from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Funeral Service there on Saturday at 11 am, conducted by Rev. William Miller. Private interment will be held. Memorial contributions may be designated to S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie, PO Box 3605, Erie, PA 16508, or to Hunt of a Lifetime, 6297 Buffalo Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421.
