Obituary of Donald L. Huth

HEADLINE: Wonderful and loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. Donald L. Huth, age 72, of Erie, passed away at UPMC – Hamot Hospital on Friday April 21, 2017 following an extended illness. He was born in Wilmington, NC, on October 19, 1944 a son of the late Lawrence and Velma Yeisley Huth. Growing up on the water of the Chesapeake Bay he enjoyed boating. Donald graduated from Lehigh University with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. He worked in the metallurgical industry for over 40 years and eventually retired from Lehigh Valley Forge in 2008. He was a member of Abiding Hope Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Brenda Byham Huth; daughter, Melinda (Scott) Monty of Canton, MI; son, Christian (Mandi)Huth of Mesa, AZ; step-daughter, Shelli (Greg) Clarke of Girard; step-son, Stephen McGowen of Cranberry, PA; five grandchildren, William, Drew and Grace Monty and Hayden and Brett Clarke; step-mother, Arlean Huth of Brodheadsville, PA; two stepsisters, Deborah of Saylorsburg, PA, Darla of Stanville, WA and five step-brothers, John of Stroudsburg, PA, Gerald of Middletown, VA, Eugene of Saylorsburg, PA, Joseph of Saylorsburg, PA and Paul of Windgap, PA. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, and are invited to a funeral service there on Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private in Venango Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to either Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th.
