George G. Walker
George G. Walker, 92, of McKean, passed away peacefully alongside his family on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in his home. George was the oldest of eight children and was born on December 11, 1924 in Erie to the late George P. and Marie (Krieger) Walker. He grew up in Erie and attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Strong Vincent High. George served during WWII in the Army Air Force and was stationed in the Pacific Theater. Upon his discharge, George met the love of his life Margaret Sakulich. He and Marge settled in McKean where they raised eight children. He enjoyed woodworking and reading. He never missed a flea market or an auction and never passed up an opportunity to tell a good childhood story. George and Marge were married 64 years until her passing in 2015. He is survived by daughters: Susan Jepson (Dan) of Cranesville, Sharon Wirick (Ric) of Keaau, Hawaii, and Maureen Walker of McKean, his sons: George P. Walker (Peggy) of Clymer, NY, Mike Walker (Julie) of McKean, Chris Walker (Lisa) of Cambridge Springs, and Dan Walker (Andrea) of San Angelo, TX, a sister-in-law Connie (Fred) Walker of Erie. He was preceded in death by one daughter Patricia, one grandson Greg and his siblings: Betty Neibauer (Hank), Ruth Say (Jim), Marie Johnson (Bill), Anna DiFucci (Ralph), Jean Domowicz (Ed), Peggy Harding and brother Fred Walker. His family invites everyone to a Celebration of Life gathering on June 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. immediately followed by a luncheon at the Zem Zem Shrine Club, 2525 West 38th Street.
