Karen Ann Markovich Ricotta, age 64, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Saturday July 15, 2017 at Walnut Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Erie on October 31, 1952 a daughter of the late John and Berniece Ruhl Markovich.
Karen graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1972 and married the love of her life, Joseph M. Ricotta on July 19, 1975. She worked as a beautician at Alberta’s House of Charm before raising her family and taking care of the home. Karen loved supporting her children as they grew and was proud to be a McDowell Trojan band mom. She enjoyed following Penn State and Michigan football and loved her cats.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph M. Ricotta; one son, Charles (Ariel) Ricotta of Ann Arbor, Michigan; their two daughters, Sophia and Rosalie; one daughter, Connie (Adam) Hall of Meadville, PA; their three children, Lillian, Carter and Jackson; one brother, Chuck (Christine) Markovich of Edinboro; nieces and nephews, Cody (Samantha) Markovich, Callie Markovich and Clay Markovich; and her cat JJ.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and are invited to a prayer service there on Wednesday morning at 9:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
