Farmer Mac and Captain Tom
Thomas P. Macaluso, age 81, of Millcreek Twp., passed away July 7, 2017 at UPMC-Hamot. He was born in Erie on August 17, 1935, the son of the late Patrick and Anne Mikitos Macaluso. Farmer Mac was founder and co-owner of Presque Isle Boat Tours, Farmer Mac’s Agway and was employed at AMSCO and Litton Erie Marine Shipyard.
He served in the US Coast Guard including three years at the Erie LB Station. Tom was a member of the F & AM - Masonic Tyrian Lodge #362, Presque Isle Houseboat Owners Association, Presque Isle Marina Association, and Orange Harbor Home Owners Association. He enjoyed riding and touring on his motorcycle and boat.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen M. (Flynn) Macaluso, his children: David Macaluso (Yuan), Thomas Macaluso, Jr. (Robin), Anne (Macaluso) Blore (Dwayne), Douglas Macaluso (Catherine), Kathy Jo (Macaluso) Skolnik (Jerome), a mother-in-law Mrs. Jean Flynn, one sister Marilyn (Macaluso) Kiem, one brother George Macaluso, grandchildren: Yu Xian Macaluso, Kaitlyn and Madeline Macaluso, Jennifer (Blore) (Jerrod) Lemieux and Matthew Blore (Lauren), Thomas Macaluso and Lauren Glova, John Macaluso and Tarah Mitchell, Daniel Macaluso and Destinee Rose, Joseph, Julia, Jacob Skolnik, great-grandchildren: Jamison Macaluso, Harper Lemieux, and Ashton Blore. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law Norbert Flynn. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Military Service conducted by the American Legion Post 773 Military Unit. Private interment.
