Obituary of Gunnery Cyparski

Gunnery Sgt. Timothy R. Cyparski Gunnery Sgt. Timothy R. Cyparski, age 30, of Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, CA, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2008. He was born in Erie on April 30, 1978, the son of Linda Beliveau and Daniel Cyparski, Sr.. Tim proudly served with the Weapons Company of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment in the United States Marine Corps since his graduation from McDowell High School in 1997. He was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, a Bronze Star Medal with Valor, and a Purple Heart for his heroic actions during two combat tours in Iraq. Tim enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his family, especially his sons, Devon and Tyler. He was also a member of American Legion Post 771. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Marie and Ira Garwood, and by his paternal grandparents, Anne and Edward Cyparski. In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Alice Cyparski, and two sons, Devon and Tyler, of Oceanside, CA; step-parents, Ronald Senkalski and Debbie Cyparski, of Erie; three brothers: Daniel Cyparski, Jr., Patrick Cyparski and his wife, Nicole, and Kevin Cyparski, all of Erie; three sisters: Dawn Bujnowski and her husband, James, of Fort Hood, TX, April Beliveau and her fiancé, Mike Cody, and Katie Senkalski of Erie; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his Marine Corps brothers. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Road, Erie, PA 16506, on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited there on Friday at 11:00 a.m. for a prayer service. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
