Obituary of Sally Beth Benson

Sally Beth Brigham Benson age 59 of Harborcreek, passed away following an extended illness, on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at UPMC- Hamot Hospital.  She was born in Erie on August 29, 1958, a daughter of the late Frank and Joan Patterson Brigham. 

Sally was a longtime employee and retired from GECAC, where she worked in the information technology department.  She was very involved in the Harborcreek community while raising her children, especially their sports programs and Harborcreek Huskies Wrestling. She was a member of the Lawrence Park Athletic Club and the East Erie Moose Lodge #593.   

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three siblings, Carol Blackhurst, Pamela Nowakowski and Mark Brigham and her former-in-laws, Jack and Ruth Benson.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Wendy) Benson Jr. of Harborcreek, Brandie (Ben) Bernatowicz of Harborcreek and Andrew Benson of Brooklyn, NY; four grandchildren, Cooper and Aurora Benson and Brendan & Blake Bernatowicz; former husband, Michael Benson; two siblings, Margaret “Peg” (Don) Williams and Matthew “Skip” Brigham and his friend Laurie and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Saturday from 5:00pm until the time of the service there at 8:00 PM.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association 4682 Douglas Circle NW Canton, OH 44718.
