Joseph "Joe" Louro Daniel
Joseph "Joe" Louro Daniel, age 77, of Millcreek Twp., went home to the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2010 at St. Mary's at Asbury Ridge following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 7, 1932, the son of the late, Jack and Maria Daniel.
Joe was a 1950 graduate of Strong Vincent H.S. and a 1954 graduate of Westminster College. He served in the U.S. Army and was employed at GMAC and United Oil, and retired from Ericson Memorial Studios. He served as an Elder and sang in the choir at Church of the Cross. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed watching all kinds of sports and was a soccer official for 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his son, John W. Daniel. Survivors include his loving wife, Anne Dahlstrand-Daniel; two sons, James (Nancy) Daniel of Erie and Jeffrey (Barbara) Daniel of Parker, AZ; five step-children: Eric Dahlstrand, Karin (Ed) Eachus, Andrew Dahlstrand, Christiane (Tim) Figurski, all of Erie, and David (Shelley) Dahlstrand of Midlothian, VA; a brother, Jack (Judy) Daniel of Raleigh, NC; ten grandchildren: Josh Daniel, Christopher, Jason, Jessica, Kristin, Laurin, and Sydney Dahlstrand; Tiffany, Alexis and Justin Figurski, one great granddaughter, Emma Dahlstrand, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his dearly loved dogs, Sammy and Scooter, with whom Joe was an active member of the Delta Society of therapy dogs.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Church of the Cross, 5901 Millfair Rd. on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Private interment. Memorials may be made in Joe's name to Church of the Cross.
