I’d like to offer my sympathies to Dave’s family, and this small memory:
I knew Dave through the pro audio industry. In fact, he was at one of the first pro audio conferences I attended in Paris at the beginning of my career in 1993. As he had been at Euphonix for a couple of years at that point, he was more settled into the roaming lifestyle and the interesting characters you could encounter. He was a reassuring influence on me as I tried to find my place in that world, and we shared several fun dinners in France, other parts of Europe and even in Asia, persuading me that it was a great business to build a career in. He also told me of how fun it was to live in California where he had moved, and that I should consider it. I eventually did! Through the years in pro audio I saw him occasionally at international events and always held him in high regard professionally, as well as considering him a friend. He leaves a gap that won’t be filled, and he will be remembered fondly by a worldwide crew of pro audio acquaintances like me. Rest In Peace, Dave.
