Obituary of Kenneth W. Rohler, Sr.
Kenneth W. Rohler Sr., age 87 of Erie, passed away at the VA Medical Center on Monday February 19, 2018. He was born in Erie on May 9, 1930, a son of the late William and Anna Enstrum Rohler. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Faith Gill Rohler in 2001 and one daughter, Carol Davis.
Ken went to grade school at Perry and Roosevelt School’s and attended Academy High School. He proudly served his country for two years in the United State Army. He was stationed in Panama, where he was a Military Police Officer and a member of the Honor Guard. Upon his completion of service in the Army, Ken returned to the Erie Area and worked as a truck driver for Frontier Lumber and Firch Bakery Co. Ken was a member of the First Alliance Church, where he was very active. He also volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond Rohler (Jill) and Kenneth W. (Sandy) Rohler Jr.; two daughters, Judy Velez and Sue Ulrich and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM at First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Rd. Erie, PA 16506. Private interment was held in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
