We were privileged to have Mike as a member of our FHS class of 1952. He seemed to always have a clear head on him. And we enjoyed and were honored to have Mike & Phyllis come to several of our lunches. That was quite a trip for them - from Erie, PA to west of Cleveland, OH. Thanks Phyllis for keeping in touch with us. May Mike rest in peace.

He was a great manager, a great friend, and a great human being.

So sorry to hear. Amidst us crazy kids (and our outsized moms), he was always a center of calm, a loving backdrop to our affectations and antics, a droll observation occasionally dropped in just to show he was paying attention. And that train set-up! RIP

It was an honor to know Mike and talk trains with the only person I knew who liked trains more than me. Whether we were reading "The Night Before Christmas," going to see the Bodies Exhibition, or going flying on an airplane that was aptly described as a "skateboard with wings," Mike's visits to San Diego were always a pleasure. I will miss "Pat's Dad" very much.

I was privileged to meet Mike and listen to his stories about his role in the space program. He was a sweet and very intelligent man who was one of the "hidden figures" who made a successful space program possible. I feel honored to have met him and his wife Phyllis.

Mike has "slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God." Rest In Peace, "Rocketman."

So many memories. All those picnics and going to the park and doing "astronaut" training. Spinning the chairs at RCA. Running on the track at the high school across the street. You riding a bike next to me when I went jogging in the evening. Always supportive and steadfast. Love you forever.

I am so sorry for your loss. May God’s promise bring comfort to your family. There will be “a new earth...and He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore... I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:1-5
