Obituary of Charles R. Wise

Charles R. Wise, age 86, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018.  He was born in Punxsutawney, PA on July 11, 1931, the son of the late Byron and Dorothy Mottern Wise. He served in the US Coast Guard for four years and received his degree from Edinboro University.  He taught in the Millcreek Twp. School District for ten years and then was elected as Millcreek’s Justice of the Peace and later District Justice until his retirement.

Charles was a member of First Alliance Church where he served in many capacities.  He was also a member of the Presque Isle Rotary, a Board member of the City Mission, a proud member of the Republican Party, and the Buick Car Club.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Dora McLaughlin Wise, two daughters; Linda Baxter (Greg) of Millcreek, Dorian Zdunski (Daniel) of Nashville, two sons; Charles A. Wise of Harborcreek, Mathew R. Wise (Elizabeth) of Findley Lake, NY, nine grandchildren: Alice (Tyler), Elizabeth, Grant, Grace, Owen, Zackery, Nathan, Casey, Benjamin, one great-granddaughter Evelyn, and one brother Wilmer P. Wise (Arlene) of Franklin.  Friends may call at the First Alliance Church, 2939 Zimmerly Road, Erie, PA 16506 on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery.
