Obituary of Joan M. Stough

Joan Steward Stough, age 87 of Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center and formerly of Harborcreek Twp., passed away on Tuesday March 13, 2018.  She was born in Erie on January 4, 1931 a daughter of the late Floyd and Anna Morrison Steward.

 

Joan was a member of Lawrence Park United Methodist Church.  She worked as a secretary at GE for 38 years, prior to her retirement in 1988.  She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the GE Retired Employees Association.

 

Joan was preceded in death by her husband William Stough and one brother James Steward. 

 

She is survived by her cousin and caretaker, Jacqueline (Charles) Dengel; one step daughter, Karen Mitchell of California; three step granddaughters and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. 

 

The family would like to thank the staff of Sarah Reed for their care and support.

 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service there at 1:00 PM.  Private interment in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. 

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2816 Elmwood Ave. Erie, PA 16508 or JDRF.org.
