Obituary of David Arthur Vorse
David Arthur Vorse, born in Erie on December 26, 1943, lost his 36-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease on Thursday March 15, 2018. He is the son of the late, Thomas W. and Lucille S. (Brown) Vorse. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Douglas Allen Vorse.
David was a 1963 graduate of Academy High School and went on to serve his country in the United State Air Force, serving in the air police. He worked for over twenty years at Erie Press Systems. David was a founding and 25-year member of the Parkinson’s Partnership of Northwest, PA. He was also a member of the American Legion, Springfield Senior Center and the Grace Senior Center. David’s greatest loves were his family, friends, pets, history and airplanes. He always had a good word for all and a great sense of humor, Dave will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Dax P. (Anna) Vorse of Pittsburgh; brothers, Thomas W. (Verla) Vorse of Lake City, and Charles A. (Carol) Vorse of McKean; sister, BeverlyAnn (Glyn) Teribery of Springcreek; one uncle, Donald R. (Arlene) Brown of Port Charlotte, FL; special friends, Joanne and Tom McIntire and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thank you to, the VA, Dr. Russ, the Red Team and all the doctors, nurses and the CNA’s who were involved in his daily care these past 12 years. Words can not express our gratitude.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Private graveside services will be held in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
