Obituary of Mary Catherine Burton

Mary Catherine “Kay” Burton, age 67 of Erie, passed away on Saturday April 28, 2018 at Golden Living Western Reserve, following a brief illness.  She was born in Erie on March 12, 1951, a daughter of the late Thomas and Helen Robinson Siembida. 

Kay graduated from McDowell High School in 1969.  She retired from Plastek in 2013 where she worked as an inspector.  She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed reading. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Amy Cleo Robinson and one brother-in-law, Allen Shoemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years Joseph Burton; two children, Erik (Sandra) Burton of Erie and Danielle Burton of Newport News, VA; three grandchildren, Haleigh Huff and Chloe and Ethan Burton; siblings, Harold (Gail) Robinson of East Brady, PA, Elaine (Bill) Kowicki of Westminster, MD and Linda Shoemaker of Erie; aunt, Hazel Siembida of Rodeo, CA; uncle, Kenneth Siembida of Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews and a close family friend, Gayle Rohde of Georgia. 

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., on Friday from 1:30 PM until the time of the memorial service there at 3:30 PM.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
