John B. “Jackie” Edwards

John B. “Jackie” Edwards, age 63, of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at St. Vincent Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.  He was born in Erie on January 21, 1955, the son of the late William E. and Louise L. Chambers Edwards. John worked at National Forge and then GE Transportation for 38 years until his retirement. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR fan and enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by the love of his life of 42 years, Connie Young Edwards, one daughter Crystal Munro (Rob) of Avon Lake, OH, two sisters; Judy Laboda (John), Carol Dickens (Curtis), one sister-in-law Janet Edwards, one brother Charles Edwards (Betty), his only grandchild Andrew Munro who would always say, “and Papa can fix anything”, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his brothers: Donald Rogers (Sandy), Phillip, Ronald, Paul, Eldon, Michael, and William, Jr. Edwards.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. and are invited there on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Gene Kennett Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at the Erie Regional Cancer Center, St. Vincent Infusion Center and St. Vincent Hospital.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Erie Regional Cancer Center, 2500 West 12^th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
