Obituary of Ewing Toliver Cole

Ewing Toliver Cole, “Teach” age 84, of Erie, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 17, 2018.  He was born in Nashville, TN on September 21, 1933, son of the late Robert and Cornelia Harris Cole. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Dana Cole and one brother, Phillip Cole.

Ewing proudly served his country in the Unites State Army.  Teaching was his life passion and he was employed at the Erie School District as a Special Education Teacher until his retirement.  Ewing was a 32^nd Degree Mason of Bay City Lodge #68 Prince Hall of PA and Shriners Pharaoh Lodge #183 Erie, PA.  He loved to cook, draw, travel, work with his hands, and was an avid reader.

 He is survived by his children; Elicia V. Cole and Mona Cole-Coyle (Ryan J. Coyle), two brothers; Robert Cole Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and Joe Cole of Nashville, TN and his granddaughter, Mikaela Coyle.

Funeral services were private and held at the convenience of the family with interment in Nashville, TN.  Arrangements were under the care of the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
