Obituary of Harry L. Hawthorne, Jr.

Harry L Hawthorne Jr., age 62 of Millcreek Twp., passed away at his home on Friday June 1, 2018, following a brief illness.  He was born in Erie on August 6, 1955 a son of the late Harry L. and Audrey A. Brown Hawthorne.  In addition to his parent he was preceded in death by one nephew Jeremy Hawthorne and his best friend Jake, his beloved beagle. 

Harry was a very hard worker as a welder at Amthor Steel for over 30 years and was a member of the Iron Workers Union.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, welding and gardening.  Harry will be most remembered as a kind-hearted fun guy, who was willing to help anyone and was known for his one liners.   

He is survived by his two children, Christopher J. (Victoria) Hawthorne and Julie M. (Sal Palilla) Hawthorne; his former wife, mother of his children and friend Leslie Hawthorne; three sisters, Cindy (John) Kendziora, Denise (Dennis) Hickin and Lorie (Bill) Hawthorne; four brothers, Allen (Cindy), Dennis, William and Edward Hawthorne and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew.    

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
