Obituary of Frieda Ann Swain

Frieda Ann Swain, 96, died Saturday June 23, 2018 at Independence Court. She was born December 2, 1921 in Aalen, Germany. She came to this country in 1924 on a ship with her mother and four siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Richard Swain, son-in- law, Joseph Krol and grandson PVT Kyle Swain.

She is survived by four children, Patricia Krol, Marilyn Swain, Richard Swain Jr. (Val) and JoAnne Brunner (Hal), 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Frieda’s home was always filled with her kids and grandchildren. She was fun loving and the center of our family. She loved to cook, read and play bingo. She was known for her “Tuesday night spaghetti dinners” and her “Thursday Bingo nights”. She will be sadly missed.

The family wishes to thank all her caregivers at Independence Court and Asera Care Hospice. We could not have asked for better care of our mom.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and are invited to a prayer service there on Monday morning at 9:15 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. George Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
