Terry M. Thayer, Sr.
Terry M. Thayer, Sr., age 76, of Millcreek Twp., passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at UPMC-Hamot after a brief illness. He was born in Erie on January 31, 1942, the son of the late Merle Thayer and Betty Vorpe Thayer. Terry was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and served in the US Navy; stationed in Spain.
He had a love for animals and working on small engines. He was a very social person who loved being around others.
Terry was preceded in death by his wife Margaret “Peggy” Abahaze Thayer in 2013.
He is survived by one daughter Laurie L. Nicholson (Mike) of Girard, one son Terry M. Thayer, Jr. (Patricia) of Lake City, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and two sisters Cynthia Wade (Gregory) of Orange County, CA. and Elizabeth Thayer of Erie. Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Private interment Erie County Memorial Gardens.
