Phillip “Phil” G. Petro

 

Phillip “Phil” G. Petro, age 57, of Millcreek Twp., passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, August 19, 2018 after a brief battle with liver cancer surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 13,1961 in Hammond, IN, the son of the late Raymond P. and Betty Lou Pivarnik Petro. Phil graduated from Gavit High School in Indiana where he excelled in athletics. He was recently employed at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center.  His favorite past-time was spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years Debbie Sechrist Petro, two daughters; Kelly N. Stehle (Jarod) of Conneaut Lake, PA, Julie E. Brown (Kyle) of Erie, two grandchildren; Lainey Lou Brown and Dean Phillip Stehle, one sister Nancy C. Petro of Meadville, and his dog Chelsea. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and their staff for the care they provided to Phil.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 2 pm until time of Prayers at 4:30 pm.  Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 2115 West 38th Street, Erie, PA 16508.
