Elaine C. Ahlund Wetzel

Elaine C. Ahlund Wetzel, age 89, of Fairview Twp., passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Edinboro Manor.  She was born in Erie on September 18, 1928, the daughter of the late Carl C. and Martha W. Herhold Ahlund. She was employed at Erie’s GTE as a secretary.  She enjoyed cards, especially playing Bridge and was an avid bowler. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband James K. Wetzel in 2003 and one sister Mildred M. Tarbell.  She is survived by one son James Conrad Wetzel (Linda) of N. Charleston, SC and Concord, OH., one grandson James L. Wetzel (Tricia) of Morton, PA, three great grandchildren; James, Lindsay Mae, and Brody Wetzel, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Heartland Hospice, Edinboro Manor, and Ms. Brenda Zimmerman.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and are invited there on Friday, September 7, 2018 for the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Erie County Memorial Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1603 West 32nd Street, Erie, PA 16508 or to the Erie Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8^th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
