Obituary of Shirley Ann VanDyke

Shirley Ann Weismiller VanDyke age 71 of Millcreek Twp., passed away on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at LECOM Senior Living Center.  She was born in Erie on July 31, 1947, a daughter of the late Katherine Weismiller.  In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul and Mildred Burkland and one daughter Debra VanDyke. 

Shirley was a longtime member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon and taught Bible and Sunday School’s.  She was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed playing Wii Games and spending time with her great nieces and great nephews.

 She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William A. VanDyke; two daughters, Stacey Ruffley and Denise VanDyke; nephews, Richard (Holly) VanDyke and Keith (Erin) VanDyke; nieces, Jenny (Pat) Schlinngs and Megan (Jon) Boyer; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tyler and Dustin Trout, Ashley Trout, Avery VanDyke, Elizabeth Boyer and Mia and Ava VanDyke and her beloved pet, Leland.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Sunday from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service there at 7:00 PM.  Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
