Paul J. Schermer
Paul J. Schermer, age 28, of Greene Twp., passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. He was the son of Gary Schermer and Jennie Bizzarro Schermer. “We lost our beloved son and brother to his battle with the disease of addiction”.
Paul was born on March 16, 1990 in Erie. He graduated from Seneca H.S. in 2008 and earned his bachelor’s degree in safety management from Slippery Rock University and then went on to use his degree working for Safety Controls Technology where he was loved and valued by all his coworkers.
Paul wrestled for Seneca for three years and was a Theta Xi fraternity brother at SRU. He enjoyed the outdoors; especially hunting with his dad and sister. He was a BMX enthusiast and recently discovered a passion for motocross. He enjoyed working on his ’79 GMC pickup as well as his dirt bikes.
Paul was a loving and caring man with a pure and genuine heart. When in need, he was there to lend a helping hand. Paul will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. He will be in our hearts forever.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents John Bizzarro, George and Elaine Schermer and his uncles; Joseph Bizzarro, Bruce Schermer, and John Heynoski.
He is survived by his sister Amanda Schermer, his grandmother Rosalind Bizzarro, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until time of sharing and a Funeral Service at 4 p.m. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
