Katherine M. Spanik Priestes
Katherine M. Spanik Priestes, age 100, of Erie, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center. Katherine had resided there for the past four years and prior to that was a resident in Pittsburgh, PA for ninety-six years.
She was born in Natrona Heights, PA on February 25, 1918, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Spanik.
Katherine was a member of St. Pio of Pietrelcina R.C. Church and enjoyed flowers, gardening, and crafts.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Priestes in 2000, one daughter Mary McCormick in 2009, three sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by one son Michael Priestes (Elaine) of Millcreek Twp., one sister Betty Moss of Columbus, OH, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to St. Edward Church, 450 Walnut Street, Blawnox, PA 15238 on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights, PA. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center, 227 West 22nd
Street, Erie, PA 16502.
